The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that between 1.6 and 3.8 million athletes in the U.S. suffer some form of traumatic brain injury (TBI) each year. The consequences of such injuries vary a great deal, often ranging from the intellectual to emotional. However, the more blows sustained by one’s head, the greater the risk for mental deficiency.
